Wotsup, if it was clearly defined in John 1:1 as you say, all translations would be in agreement. They are not because the 2 Greek words translated God are different. Firstly Mr G, I find the first part of your statement here rather surprising. To my knowledge, No other faith has a translation like JW's, so this statement of yours can apply to your Bible.
Now I covered this said two different God translations with you before, and you never answered. (Theon & Theos). I spent days on the Original Greek language/styles looking at these. I applied JW's take on this "A God" theory and went all through Revelations and your theory "can not" work because in places where it would be Christ on your theory, there was no question about it, the subject was God and in other places, it went vice versa = it cant work. Also when you examine the actual Greek style writings, they write God four different ways. I didn't just limit it to Rev. When you go further into the Greek, you then find, although they spell it different here and there, it is the same God and it depends on the context as to which they use. Mysteriously when I put this to you, you went quite = no comment?
As I say, JW's are standing alone, and you make a comment as such at the beginning here? How many got on the Ark haha.
Would you accept a trinitarian explanation that said; 'Christ is the Son OF God= He is NOT The Son because that is God'. God is the word and the Son is the word of the word. God is the light and the Son is the light "of" the light = simples. You are Mr G and your Kid's are of Mr G. = Simples!

God's Son from the time of his creation "beginning" was named "the Word", because that was the role for which he was created. You would need to show me that support because John isn't it. Personally, I say you have disrespect for a key part of God and dissect him, ripping out "His" word. Or, "you" just are not comprehending the full scope of The Word. If you say Christ is the word, your saying he is the creator. And I noticed the other day in a JW Bible a HUGE twist in Prov 8:30, YOU can not make such a change and justify it. There is no way this verse suggests what JW have included. it simply says, Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him. No mention of Christ's involvement in creating other than he was there. God said, let there be light and there WAS light = The word of God. The Lord said this and the Lord said that = Oh my gosh what part of that do people not GET????
Also, while it is true God is a Spirit and God is holy, it is also true that there are myriads of other spirit persons that are also holy. Neither God nor these others are the holy spirit. Holy spirit is not a person, it is an impersonal active force through which God accomplishes his will. WOW I'm a little lost for words here??? So we have a pack of Holy Spirits running around. haha Hey, where not even aloud to have one Idol, never mind a pack of them ha.
Christ was Baptized and the Spirit of God descended. We know that was The Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost and we know God was in Christ, we know God's Spirit (Holy Spirit) comes in "some ha" of us and your suggesting God is NOT the Holy Spirit, may God Save you some how ???

I don't know how in your mind, you can say the Holy Spirit is not God's personal Spirit and that this Spirit isn't One Spirit.

THE WORD is pretty much the center of God (not to mention his Holy Spirit) the be all and end all and he sticks this in your face, I am Alpha Omega (My Word) letters of my Alphabet for "My Words" that "are the beginning and end". The end being in the last day and judgement by my very word John 12:48 He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. Notice how it says hath one, and that is the words Christ spoke which, were of The Father. So the ONE is talking of the Word, personifying the word The One, which we know is God's Word = God.
Everything about God, his creation, our salvation, his inner self etc etc is in that WORD and I for one will not be party to dividing it.
So perhaps it's time for many to come back to Heb 5:12 For when the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. And maybe read Hos 14.
