There is not the slightest doubt that it is not the name of God.
    ------
True Darkroom! Equally true is that the name given God's Son was not Jesus. Jesus is a Latin form of the Greek Iesous, which corresponds to the Hebrew. Yeshuaʽ or Yehohshuaʽ and means “Jehovah Is Salvation”. Should we for that reason ignore or even deny the fact God's Son has a name the way many have treated God? I would suggest the Scriptures example is the best to follow along with other early translators such as the Septuagint. They translated names into the language they were writing, that is from Hebrew or Aramaic into Greek.
They translated with the purpose of enlightening people rather than obscuring the truth.
When the name Jehovah is used it is widely recognised as the true God by English speaking people. When the name Jesus is used he too is recognised.
