It would not be ironic. It would be part of an accumulation strategy much admired by certain posters in here.
That is, you short the heck out of the stock, issue negative reports, get a downramping campaign going, rinse and repeat.
At the same time related parties accumulate on the side very cheaply.
Suddenly you will get various persistently negative posters finally pronouncing that MSB has matured sufficiently to be a 'buy'. Having ignored all the science, evidence and logic to the contrary.
I don't find it ironic as a possibility, I find it deeply disturbing.
