good value at these levels for several reasons ...
i've always liked the gang members running 'macraes' over the years. grd ensured good management. grd is on it's way now in it's own right without gold.
so, with sr orr (no punn intended) his own man i do not see why ogd cannot produce the goods which are ensured ready to pick in nz. i admit i know little about the phillipines and the merger encumbant climax but i'm confident steve orr had this on his mind way back long ago. he'd almost certainly have known the guys running the show at climax so i don't expect this is a matter of any thing rash post grd moving on. only my opinion tho.
what's made me get interested in ogd again (held for many yrs since the days of macres thro to grd, which i no longer have atm) is the little fact that gold could have a nice run up a ton of bucks over the next 3 mths.
why ?
well i can see interest rates popping up all over in nov. that's one. secondly the winter in the northern hemisphere will probably be cold (it's getting that way a bit in the real north already) but will at least push oil up a bit. not forgetting the us fiddling witht the oil stocks atm and once the nov elections are out of the way those oil stocks will have to be replenished. you see i believe the us's stocks are lower than we are led to believe in order to keep down the price of oil pre nov 7th mid termers.
now if i am right on this then that's good for gold.
on it's own merits ogd has been good at juggling it's hedge book to it's advantage. when it's outa the money it plays around and 'bingo' it's in the money ! if it can do this again, like it did so very well once before, then the share price, looking back at these levels available now, are gonna look silly. not to mention the increase in gold output ensured too.
ok so i am not 'the gold bug' but i can see a nice lil turn here. the downside is limited. the upside is very good. i hope so cos i'm bidding for some at the levels available in the market right now.
for the sake of 'The Credibility Stakes' i'm saying buy at the very low 60's and bob's your uncle. if i get in at my bid level i'll shout. then i'll wait for a turn and 'get out'. i prefer industrials. but who knows eh ?
ps the real truth is my lady wants to go to turkey for xmas and the do ray me's pretty low. gotta punt lol. hahahaha (seriously, no it's not the case. pardon darling ... oh yes, it IS the case. no it's not, wink, wink)
