Would WPL be happy with 35% of this JV?
WPL are not a 500lb gorilla, more like a 100lb gorilla.
How could they become a 200lb gorilla?
By ending up with all of this discovery.
How would they go about it?
They could take a ping at CNE but that would be an awfully big bite.
They could take a ping at FAR.
That would put them well and truly in the drivers seat.
It would be clean and very cheap.
They could then over time take out CNE.
I expect a bid at any time now.
probably 12c
A nice premium to our SP.
I doubt it will be enough but they will get plenty of support.
If there are other PE funds or 500lb gorilla's lurking, a bid will flush them out.
If not a second bid of about 20c should be enough to mop up the holdouts.
It makes sense to me.
The hard work has been done, the oil has been discovered.
COP have moved on, CNE don't appear overly interested.
This could be another company maker for WPL.
They will look like genius's in a few years time if this is even a fraction of the size most on here think it is.
