It has been said by many that the unions will quite happily kill the goose that lays the golden egg....
They did it with the car manufacturers and they have done it with the rag trade. Both industries we could have still had if not for the greed and short sightedness of the union movement.
Its interesting isn't it...a point not missed by Larry Pickering...the ALP is all over Health and Education and use it as their platform for pretty well every election and are prepared to throw billions at it with a moments notice...why?
"The Labor Party has always promoted health and education as its major policy planks. But not because it has a deep and abiding care for children and the infirm... health and education are its highest contributors to union coffers but only when Federal Governments contribute the initial funds."
Why the massive dry and hue and foot stamping by the trade unions and the ALP and huge blame put onto the LNP for the car manufacturers shutting down as the LNP refused to keep shovelling millions into the trade union pockets through subsidising the car industry.
The unions represent about 13% of the workforce...I reckon three quarters of those members are only members because they have no choice...you want this job, you become a member of our union!
