Another thoughtful post walkingeagle. Thanks, I'm also keeping a close eye on oil and have a nice 'small' speculative investment waiting for the upturn. Ready to pour in much more $$$ at the first sign. Need to be careful though, much like gold oil seems to be controlled by forces with agendas beyond normal economics.

Not sure correct about S&G sending over the execs to sort out PSD only to fail. I know from a credible source that Cath Evans was due back in Australia around July 2015 but extended her secondment through to the turn of the year (2016). That is not to say Cath is not accountable and perhaps she was unable to stamp her mark on integration, it's just the intention was never for Cath to be a leader in PSD integration and she wasn't sent over for that purpose.

Cath had been in the UK on secondment since 2012 and wasn't expected to stay for the integration of PSD.

Quotes from 2012 after acquiring RJW.

"Three of the top managers from Slater & Gordon are moving to London to help the listed law firm's newly acquired British operation expand its grip on the local legal services market".....

" The three managers who will be helping RJW expand its influence in that sector are Christine Heyting, who is the head of human resources; Ken Fowlie, who is an executive director; and Cath Evans, who formerly ran the personal injuries practice in Victoria before being appointed head of operations."..... "We're giving them the A team," Mr Grech said.

I agree about the CFO. Those interested in reading body language (or reading via the sound in voice and presentation) listen again to the FY2015 webcast. I mentioned at the time Wayne Brown seemed curt and it seemed a little tension between Wayne and Andrew - a couple of times they interjected and it didn't seem overly respectful. Like two people at odds. With benefit of hindsight, I'm now convinced something wasn't right between the CFO and MD. I feel far more confident with Bryce Houghton running the rule over accounts and expect he has used his honeymoon period to clear the decks.

    We'll know soon enough.

Congratulations on Team GB. Not sure if you care for sport but it is a stunning performance by GB at the Olympics.
