I just stumbled on an article regarding SPF ratings on sunscreens, in that they only measure the effects of UVB rays on causing the skin to redden, and completely ignore the effects of the deeper penetrating and more damaging UVA rays, which of course ANO's zinc oxide prevents.

If you want protection from UVA rays – and believe me, you do – look for a sunscreen lotion whose label shows that it contains zinc oxide or 3 percent avobenzone. A 25 percent concentration of zinc oxide and a 3 percent concentration of avobenzone are the legal limits for these chemicals, and they are often used at, or near, those upper limits in SPF 30 products.
EWG have written to the FDA urging them to review the method of sunscreen ratings to include protection from both UVA and UVB, which can only be good for zinc oxide sales.
