I suspect that the announcement needed to be put out around the same time as staff were being informed of the decision to close the facility. In which case an announcement would be warranted so investors find out through an appropriate channel rather than reading about it in a local paper. While not exciting, I still see the need to provide the information to the market. Perhaps they won't know the cost savings until it is all done and dusted.
