re: hta - ??????????? This telco business is complicated at best, but those 3G companies didn't pay billions for nothing. It was like buying up all the roads before the motor car had been invented and then charging users for them.Whether it works out like that has to be seen;but in Europe we are seeing mobile calls cost down 50% which will put some of the telcos out of business. The 3G companies are able to undercut the market because of their super highway bandwidth which is needed for video in the future.Right now they are using it to cause pain to the opposition. As they have deep pockets they can probably do this as long as it takes and end up with a huge chunk of the market just when all this technology comes together.I can see that we will get our internet, mobile phone and possibly entertainment from one provider. If Telstra keeps mucking about their copper cable will rot in the ground.Satellite technology is improving all the time and getting fast and reliable.VSTAT satellites are going to give a lot of competition[MUL is tied up with these].It is a huge market worth billions so it best to have a toe in it.
