Anything goes in this period and it is totally legal, the winners are usually the bots who work in microseconds, it is also a time you can jump the cue thus you will often see buys considerably higher than the 4.00 PM close and sells considerably lower than that price this is not to be taken that they are willing to buy or sell at that price.
