Looks to me like they tried to gain CE mark and/or FDA approval without enough clinical evidence and now they are undertaking a very large study with 300 patients. These patients are often very unwell and there may be recruitment difficulties depending on the protocol.
IMO Oncosil are banking on great results in 20 patients so they can gain sales approval while the trial continues. Conclusions 1. I doubt $13M will be enough to fund the full proposed trial (will need CR). 2. The future of this company will be determined by the only thing that counts - does it work? The first 20 patients will therefore hold the key to this product and this company. 3. The study is 2 years overdue.
In terms of the recent presentation affecting SP... everyone has heard the rhetoric for a long time. They have great presentations but so often they have given the same stale message "great product, huge demand, approvals coming, people will cue up to buy". There is only so much tolerance of the same rehash. And the studies have the issues as above. Just my opinion of a product that still may be brilliant but we just do not have the evidence.
