all NDSS subsidised diabetes consumable products, such as blood glucose testing strips, insulin pen needles and insulin pump consumables, are now only available through pharmacies. Previously, people living with diabetes were able to order their supplies online. Also about 1.2millions diabetics in Australia.

Greater emphasis on pharmacies to cater for diabetic consumables = greater interaction between pharmacies and diabetics = greater need for medical management, which can be assisted through MDR as complementary tool.
