You are overestimating bots. Sure they could have some few pips impact on the price, but what for? There are more functions for bots than 'price manipulation' and most of them are to do with getting a good price on moving large amounts of shares, whether buying or selling.

To bring the price down they have to sell valuable shares to lucky people on the buy side for less than their true value. They then have to hope that the market sentiment follows and everyone else decides to sell too cheap too!!!? ....aaand there's always the chance that an opposing insto will just say thanks for the shares. There will be some stop losses triggered, but big money doesn' t use those, they have people with brains watching the stop losses - so the potential gain from this practice isn't going to be worth the programmers' wages.

If the market sentiment doesn't move down with the bots then what gain have they made? They can buy back some shares at a cheaper price, but who from? Their own bots? And if the sentiment does move just wait it out.

If you are a trader, I agree you will have a tough time beating the instos evil armies. If you are gambling then I would recommend poker. But if you are an investor these bots are essentially your wet dreams come true. If you are an informed investor who loves AJX put your buy orders in a bit lower and wait for the friendly robots to begin handing out the shares!
