"HOW INFLUENTIAL IS HC ON YOUR TRADING"
- Where do you get your leads (STT and ???) or through following specific posters
- Are you a follower or a leader when picking stocks from HC
For me and i have said this before the combination on STT & BT thread has been a fantastic source for getting to know stocks & looking at the next trend. I must say that i'm also finding a lot people jumping on the bandwagon as soon as a stock is posted on these threads without looking at why or how, most times when that happens the stock comes down a day or two latter or even falls back further because of panic.
Granted i use to do the same when i first started but it became clear to me that if i do not know why i'm buying then i will not know when to sell, it becomes an insecure trade which is guaranteed to loose money on. All my buy's have been thought out & researched best i can, as a result i'm prepared for what can come.
Getting back to the subject, I follow a few respected posters & i think
@john435 's map's are amazing, very grateful to have such decent leads to go off from a few posters, also having the more experienced posters to always answer a question like
@Sector Lead,
@Freehold @Anton Chigurh have done has is truly a gift to have on HC ( I know i do you're heads in sometimes lol ) .. A few newbies have posted very nice stocks that i have bought in & had a nice gain's too..
- What are you looking for in HC Posts
I like posts that are full of decent information relating to the company or the chart, also i like to hear the opinion of what the poster is thinking about that info being presented,
@gamefisherman does this so well on his tip's .. There is no right or wrong as it's a discussion forum so anything being presented should be learned from.
- How much does HC commentary affect a stock price movement
I know certain posters can influence a stock, Fib does on post & bag it's off to the races.. There is an affect & i could name names but i don't want to give my self a big head
and others.. But if you look at the stock run after a mention it comes down just as hard due to the reasons i said above... I don't read much of the other threads anymore as most of the commentary has become about pip movements & just complete BS, which is a shame really as i'm sure there would be heaps of decent info somewhere in-between.
No doubt i would find it hard to trade at home with the social aspect that everyone seems to enjoy, but more then that, the trader i'am is because i learned most of what i know from HC, In the end i'm looking at the long term game so it's always on me how that information get's used, that way i learn from the good & bad moves i make & hopefully get better each year...
