Great thread guys, really enjoy reading dog lovers thoughts on their animals and how special they are.
Have any of you ever considered feeding a raw diet?? Honestly I've had quite a few dogs that were always at the vet with one ailment or another. The last 2 have been German Shepherds that I've fed raw, the difference is amazing to say the least.

To begin with the coat is nice and shiny, skin is pink and healthy and doesn't smell, in fact I simply don't need to bath only an occasional rub down with a damp towel. Teeth are self cleaning with the big chunks of meat and edible bone (not the teeth killer cow bones). No bad doggy breath. Nice and lean, ie no carb filled dog biscuits.

To begin can be a little daunting but theres heaps of info out there and it's really simple when you find yourself some good and cheap meat suppliers. Google raw fed dogs and see what comes up.

What you might pay a little extra per week for raw food, the reduced vet bills will definitely outweigh that and you'll have an extremely happy and healthy dog.

I could bang on and on about this subject but don't want to come across as being sanctimonious as it's a personal choice to what people feed their dogs and that has to be respected.

    Cheers
