I am one of those who has spread the risk, but I did my research first, just like you say, I have nine shares in my portfolio, the ones that have come good so far are APA bought at $2 now worth $9.32, PNV bought at 5 cents now 27 cents, but look out above and soon, EDE of course at 1.8 cents and look out above once again.
There are two more that I expect news on very soon, SLX is one I have done extensive research on they are at net asset value per share there will be news on this before the end of the year, and a dark horse called KKL, go to their thread and read some of the comments, they are almost breaking even on cash flow, but there is much more to it.
I don't consider that I will get average returns, the others I have also show some promise but are taking longer that's all IMHO, but I am patient, I am prepared to let the flowers grow along with the weeds, although I don't pull them out without furthere research, I don't water them though , sometimes weeds turn into beautiful flowers at the most unexpected times I have found in the past.
