For some reason the greenies etc think there's going to be a massive technological advancement in battery storage which will see them (1) shrink to the size of an atom, and (2) store more power than a 100 litre petrol tank.
Trouble is if youknow how batteries work = 2 electrodes, electrolyte, and electrode potential - you know batteries will always be big, inefficient, heavy, and suffer from cycle storage loss. And they never admit that batteries consume vast amounts of natural resources during manufacturing.
There's not an electric car that can compete with petrol on speed, range, weight, or pollution. They all require more resources to make, and they all rely on coal power to run.
