Sinotel is an Australian company which currently enables international investors to participate in the Joint Venture. It owns 100% of it’s local joint venture company in China, namely, Shanghai Sinotel Guangtong Information Technology Company, (SSGT), which is in a 40% joint venture with Shanghai Guangtong Land Network and Telecommunications Co Ltd., (GTTX) which holds the 60% JV interest. SSGT is purchasing, in stages, the networking equipment to be installed on the nodes in GTTX's fully installed fibre network. The staged financing of this equipment and working capital is the purpose of Sinotel’s total fundraising programme of about US$30 million.
