No you wouldn't "invest 150% of my current investment", unless you don't pay any tax.
It is possible you may not even have 100% of what the stock was worth before the takeover bid to reinvest after taking tax into account!!
There are some investors who believe some gold shares are far better investments and growth stories than other gold stocks in this developing gold bull.
Those investors want to hold those shares for a number of years and if they are correct will make massive capital gains as the gold bull and share price gathers momentum.
They don't want their equity position wrecked at this stage by a takeover.
