Much better news in the past 24 hours on scheduling of cannabinoid products - especially the whole plant from the TGA:
https://www.tga.gov.au/scheduling-d...cannabis-and-tetrahydrocannabinols-march-2016
Briefly - Cannabis preparations (including the whole plant) will be moved from Schedule 9 (prohibited substance) to Schedule 8 (controlled drug).
Acc. to the TGA delegate - "Moving to Schedule 8 will allow some improved access under jurisdictional laws for patients who have been prescribed medicinal cannabis products. It will also provide greater ability to undertake research and clinical trials to gather further evidence of therapeutic efficacy.".
So much better news than when I posted last time when cannabis was still listed in Schedule 9 in the last edition of the SUSMP (Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons).
