With apologies in advance to @gustaaf I dug up an interesting bit of data (with the help of Wikipedia) to help conceive the amount of oil we are talking about. bear with me:
Therefore 3.6 billion BOE as per the internal estimate translates to 572 million cubic meters.
- Port Jackson, consisting of the waters of Sydney Harbour, Middle Harbour, North Harbour and the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers, is the ria or natural harbour of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
- The estuary's volume at high tide is 562 million cubic metres.
- Unit of volume for crude oil and petroleum products. One barrel equals 42 US gallons or 35 UK (imperial) gallons, or approximately 159 liters or 9,702 cubic inches (5.6 cubic feet); 6.29 barrels equal one cubic meter and (on average) 7.33 barrels weigh one metric ton (1000 kilograms).
Which is more oil than the water in 'Sydney Harbour'!!
Just saying.
