    Abbott led an Opposition that had no majority in the House or the Senate.

    So Gillard was allowed to do exactly what she wanted to.

    All Abbott did was talk ,which was his job , what actually happened was completely in the hands of the Government ,the Greens and their cohorts.

    Completely different situation now
