Well, I thought I would do my own research. Expandable Graphite is of course just a process (as is Graphene) it is not naturally occurring.
So I spoke to a colleague of mine who runs one of the world's oldest privately owned graphite company. They have been in business for over 100 years. He made this comment on GPX's expandable graphite claim:
"Expansion % is based on how thick the flake is thus to expand even close to 1500 to 1 they need to have a flake that is 6 times more layers or thicker than any existing known flake graphite."
He went on to say:
"......Grafex must have a different test method than the current world standard. No flake graphite will expand 1500 times or 6 times greater than current grades of Expandable Graphite...."

The thing that surprises me is that the ASX has not forced this company to make any statement about the test methodology or standards that they have adopted so that one can make a reputable comparison or evaluation of GPX's claims.
