Once upon a time Grade was King.

He had ruled the mining realm going on for yonks. So much so that in their greed CEOs would look no other way, but Grade.

The CEOs lived BIG from Grade's largesse. Then one dark day a scourge named Low Prices darkened the mining world. Scores of CEOs were slain. Canabilism took hold, ordered by those few CEOs still standing they proclaimed, "Mine the Best ore we own!"

Even this last fleeting homage to appease Grade was not enough.

Then one day, no duller or brighter than those that preceded it, a new CEO was born. He, some say she, was born by the union of a Miner and a Bean Counter.

His name was Economic Deposit. His aim is to only mine those ores where the god Profit deemed good.

Grade was dead. Economics is King!

And we all lived happily ever after...

Since as far back as around 2012 it has not been about just grade. It's now about AISC. Bonanza grades mean little if extracting them costs too much. Cost baby, LOW cost.
