Nuclear power news is a bit slim recently because most nuclear news is about Korea and Iran. The first item could be very important.

The U.S. Federal Court of Claims awarded $143 million to three closed nuclear power plants in Maine, Connecticut and Massachusetts because the government failed to remove their used fuel beginning in 1998 as specified in the Nuclear Waste Policy Act. (this is for a small volume of used fuel compared to what's out there, indicating the U.S. is in store for some massive awards or settlements)
PPL (Pennsylvania) applied to the U.S. NRC to increase Susquehanna NPP's output by 205 MWe ("enough electricity to supply about 160-thousand homes").
NRC extended the license of the two-unit Nine Mile Point Nuclear Power Station (New York) for another 20 years, to 2029 for unit one and 2046 for unit two.
Dale Klein, new Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, plans for the NRC to cut the time it takes to license a new nuclear power plant from 3.5 years to about 2.
In Nevada, the Walker River Paiute Indians have changed their mind about access to their reservation for a rail line, so the DOE is reconsidering building one through western Nevada to Yucca Mountain.
Brazil announced they will construct seven nuclear plants by 2025 (they currently have 2, with a third on the drawing boards). They will more than double the nation's nuclear contribution from 2.5% to 5.6% of their electricity (capacity or generation????).
General Electric and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are discussing forming a partnership for GE to sell in the U.S. a large pressurized-water reactor (PWR) developed by Mitsubishi (GE makes boiling water reactors, or BWRs). This would be to compete against theWestinghouse/Toshiba AP-1000 PWR and the AREVA EPR PWR.
