Kalahari Minerals jv wins nuclear fuel prospecting licence in Namibia

LONDON (AFX) - Kalahari Minerals PLC said its joint venture partner Extract Resources Ltd, has been offered by the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy an exclusive nuclear fuel prospecting licence.

Kalahari Minerals, a mining exploration and evaluation group with assets in Namibia, said the one-year licence will be incorporated within the existing Husab joint venture, in which Kalahari Minerals has a 49 pct stake and Extract holds the rest.

Kalahari Minerals said the new project is located between the Rossing uranium mine, one of the world's biggest, and the Langer Heinrich deposit.
