Interesting stats from Bloomberg. Thanks TTMI. According to bloomberg a 50 fold increase from today to 2024 is a 5% growth rate. Somehow I just don't think so. It is closer to a 50% per annum growth rate.

Knowing the way the Germans in the email group talk of these things, the uptake is going to be way higher and faster than all the predictions. They really are a green nation compares to us.
Personally I'd love to have my own 1MWh storage capacity, but at the price paid by GM for their batteries $145/KWh capacity. That would cost me $145,000, but wow I'd have unlimited energy forever, as I'd chuck a few extra panels on a few sheds as well as fill the roof of the house.

Battery storage on the grid will make totally redundant the system of peak and off peak electricity rates, or maybe just change the time of day that peak prices are charged. However they do it, you can bet the consumer will pay for it, unless consumers decide to put in their own batteries, something I think is highly likely!!
