Everyone is entitled to their views on religion and that is a good thing. If it makes people happy that is good.

But, IMO, the concept of god arose out of necessity with people coming together to live a community from their nomadic lifestyle. You needed rules to live together eg you could not go about stealing from neighbours or coveting neighbour's wife, etc. And it worked. Have a read of ancient Mesopotamian history.

We now have the guvnuts making laws and implementing laws as required.
