banjar, good post. A "working" class person, staying out of debt, saving a bit, will feel and be wealthier than a "middle" class person up to there eyeballs in debt to finance today's consumption at the cost of tomorrow's retirement.
My fear is that the former will end up suffering from the results of the latters' excesses, no matter how hard they work and save.
