You go to a big meeting get talking and spruiking about how you are the only one who understands the problems, and that you have solved all the problems, and the rest of the world should follow your lead.
But then you get put on the spot and in the way of all boasters (Mine in bigger than yours scenario) you agree that of course Australia can take more people from another crime ravaged countries and agree to fully integrate them

It's nothing to do with politics its just people who get too big for their boots and showing off
