That's hardly news. The vast majority of muslims in Australia have come as refugees(or they're descendants of refugees). Aside from our "humanitarian" intake, pretty much all migrants to Australia are skilled migrants - hence they don't come from islamic crap holes in the middle east). So we're certainly not missing out on great people by not taking people from the middle east, as you suggest.
Why on earth would you want to take people who are almost guaranteed to have terrorists within when you can take people from countries with a much lower risk? It just doesn't make sense.
