back to the File types list that you got to earlier
when you scroll to WAV ..WAV File
and highlight it
what does the Details for "WAV extension open with
does it have an icon and Windows Media Player
if Not click change and select it in Recommended programs..Click OK
and close..
what does this do
when you go to Start/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Device Properties/sounds
soundscheme Widows default
scroll down to Events
highlight asterisk
below that you should see
Sounds options for the asterisk
if there is a black arrow , click it
.....what happens
also
In Hardware do you have Legacy Audio Drivers
They are the default generic sound drivers.?
