Medical Apps

There is no doubt in my mind we are seeing the change from human decisions in medicine to machine based or at least machine assisted systems. Small steps now but soon to be a rapid torrent. You only need to look at most large hospital units now to realise how process driven the medicine is. Guidelines, protocols and directed treatments independent of individual Physician opinion is considered best practice in many instances particularly in disciplines such as Emergency Medicine. There is just too much information to absorb and too much variation in individual practice. The ability to objectively compare health parameters between clinicians with a "common language" is a great advance.
