To confirm, the “market price” on open is usually the ‘estimated open price’ as determined by the overall average or number of shares at ‘buy’ price vs average number of shares at a ‘sell’ price. As you see in the screen shot below in the left hand corner, the “est open price” is 0.040c. This means the buyer bidding at 0.045 will have his order filled at 0.040. The Seller wanting at sell at 0.039 will actually get 0.040 for his filled sell order. Mind you, order for buying and selling can be placed and pulled right up to the opening second and can have an impact on actual Open Price. That is why the quote before market actually opens, is only an ‘estimate’.
