In my opinion, it simply comes down to a differet reporting style and the impatience of the domestic market participants ( which makes overseas conducted price manipulation only easier ) who enjoy broker induced rallies and similar quick price fixes. It all stems from a market which has its root in resource speculation over the past decades.
This is not meant as a stab at you Smilez, it is rather a general market observation over the decades here in OZ compared to overseas.
