Some updated information from today's AFR on Airtrunk

"Elsewhere, and as first reported by Street Talk on Tuesday, Singaporean start-up AirTrunk has paid about $15 million to acquire a data centre site in Derrimut, Melbourne, as it forges ahead with plans to disrupt the data centre industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Melbourne property is located at 176 Swann Drive and was snapped up from a private owner via Savills Australia. A development application was lodged with Brimbank City Council last month."

So, they appear to be a serious threat to NXT. I suspect that NXT did the capital raising to make sure that they had the cash to maintain first mover status and to have the capacity to be able to effectively compete with Airtrunk. Opening up additional data centres means that you never have to say "no" to a customer.
