CRITERION takes full responsibility for the stock exchange "speeding ticket" incurred by the platinum group metals (PGM) explorer this week. Platina hit a 32c high after we rated the stock a SPECULATIVE BUY at 24.5c last Thursday. Platina offered no solid explanation to the bourse traffic wardens, but noted "generally upward" PGM prices. Despite their "poor cousin" status, PGMs such as platinum and palladium are gaining status as a "clean" metal with myriad industrial uses. The bad news is that Platina shares have retreated sharply. The good news? This justifies an ongoing SPECULATIVE BUY call.
