You've described pretty much my big picture scenario but I try very hard to ignore my prejudices and only trade the market that's in front of me rather than my longer term predictions.
DOW 5000 wouldn't surprise me but the bear has a sense of humour so DOW 10000 first also wouldn't surprise me.
Re banks you'd have to think that the yield must set a floor under them at some point, but again the market will do what it wants. If one disappoints on earnings there could be a rush for the door.
