bendigo, the MD could be paid $1.2m pa or $580k with $225k conditional in current FY and up to $400k value vesting in 2019 depending on shareholder return and company performance.

What is your opinion, pay $1.2m cash or $580k with a contingent incentive aligned to shareholder return up to the value of $1.2m?

    Questions:

    * is $1.2m excessive compared to what a head of an ASX global company earns?

    * are shareholders likely to benefit from a company head incentivised greater than 50% aligned to SH return?

Is a protest vote and potential saving to the company of a negligible amount (in context of $1bn company) going to produce company performance leading to a greater SP?

Loaded questions but so was your question loaded by the emphasis on 'additional'.

Protests do not motivate they demotivate. We can all look into our own souls to appreciate that. If angry, probably cannot bring self to admit on this forum but l'm certain virtually everyone would accept their performance at work would suffer if the boss said not happy with you and we'll reduce your income. If that happened to me I might say 'undestood' while going through the motions of work pending a departure date of my choosing.

The answer is a mix of fixed and contingent pay. Fixed covers lower order needs and incentives promote self-actualisation. All stakeholders benefit if achieve.
