Hi punters, it should be an interesting run up to dividends with the ABS inflation data coming out on the 26th of October, MQG announcing dividends on the 28th of October, the RBA meeting on November 1st and MQG going ex-dividend on the 8th of November. With this is mind I am seeing no movement in the warrants section of the longs and some activity in the shorts section. Does this mean punters are taking it that the inflation data will be bad for value? Having said this, MQG has proven historically that going ex-dividend is not bad for value and tends to keep going for a while. Yet I am waiting for the leg down as I will be shorting. Using trend analysis, I am waiting patiently for the 26th of October just to see the market's initial reaction and will decided whether to short from $85 or above $85. Anyone want to give their $0.02c worth because patience can be less thrilling than throwing one's hat in and it would be interesting to see how others in the market perceive this period.
