Can't say I'm a big fan of airline stocks so for that reason I'd prefer the deal to be off.
Looking at the potential positives for AFG:
AFG is only taking 11%, AEQ is taking 34% I think
AFG earns management fees from AEQ as a % of total assets. AEQ is going to do a capital raising so this means more management fees for AFG
Potential for AFG to do more leasing deals for QAN
Potential for AFG to re-lease old QAN planes
AFG has several board members who have a large amount of experience in running an airline ie Rod Eddington and David Turnbull
