Defence is one of the big costs. Though 300 billion is not a lot when you consider it is costing us somewhere between 10 and 15 billion a year to be involved in the ME.
Then there is the F35 project which will cost us about 15-20billion by 2020.
If we can make some of the stuff ourselves it will mean jobs and money going back into our economy but if we just buy stuff from foreign countries the money is lost from Australia.
If you consider the new subs at least a good portion of that cost will go back into our economy creating industry, jobs and income for the workers, business and revenue for the government.
Im of Trumps persuasion, I think some country in the ME owes us a whole lot of money and we should ask for it in the form of ship loads of oil. They would not miss a couple of ship loads of oil.
We should get something in return for our military and the people who have died in the cause of another country.
Someone should pay.
