i think the day trading / chartist mentality is that they look at their charts and indicators, and whatever methods they use, and it will dictate a price to buy or sell at. problem is, everyone else is using similar methods that result in the same price, and hence the sell side gets stacked at certain levels
some then get impatient and drop their sell price lower because they feel there is an opportunity cost for not getting their money out ASAP and into the next trade
