To me long term means until the GFC plays out. There will be more bubbles and more crashes. In the meantime, I'll be sticking to safe haven assets like Gold and land, buying when I think they're undervalued. There is no way I can invest in equities (besides some game changers in tech and bio) when I believe that they;re in a bubble caused by central bank monetary policy.
There may be only one or two more cycles left until folks are fed up and vote for someone like Ron Paul who will wind down the fed and the fiat monetary system and introduce a monetary system backed by commodities. The fact that Trump is this close is a sign that it's not far off.
