"Sorry Gann and Plushtek i have to go with Jim in the long term, but you are right in the short term".
i have to agree with this statement. i think it is too soon to call for a crash in zinc prices, and it takes a brave soul to short zfx for anything more than a day in present market conditions. zfx tends to only loose ground (ie in excess of a couple percent) when there is significant negative sentiment.....and i will be proven right or wrong tomorrow......but don't see it happening on the last trading day before xmas...thus, i don't think there will be massive selloff on zfx tomorrow.
zfx has also been very strategic in its expansion plans. whilst its peers are willing to pay billions to take out their competitors at pretty much the peak of the commodities market, zfx has been forming low cost jv's....thus, ensuring that shareholders continue to reap the benefit of company profits.
until other major zinc deposits come on line (including the speculated india supply).....there will still be a deficit ....despite whatever the slowdown in demand for zinc.
this is just my humble opinion.....gann, i read your posts on the weekend, and generally understand your arguments. i just think you may be a touch off on your timing. we'll know soon enough. if your right, i'll buy you a bottle of whatever (within reason). deal?
