In Air New Zealand's Mt Erebus crash in Antarctica, AIZ did lose a plane killing all on Board. The male CEO, Morrie Davis, resigned as CEO after a media, political and public backlash.
After the Dreamworld Disaster in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, a flume crashed with 4 on board, the female CEO, Deborah Thomas, keeps $1.302 million of her $1.48 million and does not resign. No commission of inquiry, no media howls of discontentment at the CEO.
Double standards given the respective genders of the two CEOs? Different medias (have media become more relaxed in 40 years, not to my understanding)?
Y have there been no calls for Deborah Thomas' resignation? Is it gender based identity politics in the media at work?
Or has safety and risk profiling fallen in 3 decades or corporate governance or accountability? Or does gender based identity politics as practised in certain country's medias and PR just overwhelm objective assessment?
