In my experience Industry Funds tend to be net accumulators of shares (unless they fundamentally change their asset allocation ranges) because the inflow of contributions exceeds benefit payments. Also most Industry Fund's have a securities lending program, certainly the largest industry funds in the country do, so I find it hard to believe on face value that shorters would spook their investment managers into divesting.
