The only ones that lost millions as you put it are the non believers in Orocobre. As a long term investor in ORE I still have a very significant holding albeit I have recovered my initial investment six months ago.
The big losers here are those playing the shorters game.... hopefully having got severely burnt, they will move on and find another stock to play their shorting game with.
