Lightweight article but I found this stat interesting: It has been estimated by the World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRFI) that around 12.7 million people worldwide suffered from cancer in 2008 and this number is expected to reach nearly 21 million in 2030
I wonder what the WCRF attribute to the expected increase? Almost doubling the rate of cancer occurrence over only 22 years would have to be regarded as catastrophic no?
Also, nice to see little old VLA get a mention alongside all those multi-billion dollar pharmas.
